Swatch has done it again. After the Omega MoonSwatch in 2022 and the Blancpain Scuba in 2023, the Swatch Group’s third “high-low” collaboration landed on May 16, 2026 — and this time the partner is Audemars Piguet. The AP x Swatch Royal Pop collection reinterprets the iconic Royal Oak through eight Bioceramic pocket watches, priced between $400 and $420.
What Exactly Is the Royal Pop?
Unlike the MoonSwatch, the Royal Pop is not a wristwatch. Each of the eight models is a pocket watch worn on a calfskin lanyard — around the neck or clipped to a bag. The number eight is a nod to the Royal Oak’s octagonal bezel. Inside beats a hand-wound version of Swatch’s SISTEM51 movement, and the Pop Art-inspired colorways run from the monochrome “Ocho Negro” to the pink-yellow-teal “Otg Roz.”
Why It Matters
Audemars Piguet is donating 100% of its proceeds to a watchmaking-skills preservation initiative, and purchases are limited to one watch per person, per day, per store — the same scarcity playbook that made the MoonSwatch a phenomenon. Expect lines outside Swatch boutiques and an instant secondary market.
Should Collectors Care?
If the MoonSwatch taught us anything, it’s that these collabs are gateway drugs to serious horology. The MoonSwatch sent a generation of new collectors toward the real Omega Speedmaster — and early MoonSwatch models still trade above retail today. We stock several Omega Bioceramic MoonSwatch models alongside the genuine article.
The same halo effect is coming for AP. A $420 Royal Pop is the closest most people will get to the Royal Oak’s design language — and for those ready for the real thing, browse our Audemars Piguet collection.
The Bottom Line
The Royal Pop is a limited-availability, in-store-only release. If you want one at retail, go early and expect one per person. And if the collab sparks a deeper itch, the vintage and modern AP market is where lasting value lives. Questions about buying or trading? Contact us — we ship to all 50 states.
